Manufacturing Includes nearly all durable goods manufacturing industries and a number of nondurable goods industries. Despite continued declines in manufacturing employment, this cluster provides nearly half a million jobs with wages 20% higher than the statewide average.

Financial Services Consists of highly diverse industries, ranging from business support services and marketing, to waste management and banking. One out of every seven jobs in the Commonwealth is classified in the business and financial service cluster. Included in the cluster are banking and credit institutions, insurance carriers and brokers, personal and professional business services, advertising and marketing agencies, employment agents and agencies as well a varied assortment of business support services.

Transportation Isolates industries that are related to the storage, transportation and distribution of goods. As the corridor for the Northeast, Pennsylvania is highly competitive in the warehousing and shipment of goods. This cluster includes all modes of transportation including pipeline as well as logistics consulting and other supporting industries.

The Retail Cluster includes retail establishments that employ 20 or more individuals.  The positions a particular  employer may need to fill can range from an entry level Stock person to an experienced Manager or Licensed Master Electrician.

The Hospitality/Tourism Cluster encompasses the management, marketing and operations of restaurants and other foodservices, lodging, attractions, recreation events, and travel related services.  This includes hotels, restaurants, golf courses and country clubs, and casinos and racetracks, recreational facilities and movie theaters.

The Healthcare cluster which includes Hospitals, Homecare companies, Assisted Living facilities any company or business that provides healthcare services to individuals.

The Information and Communication Services cluster is concerned with occupations in the information support industries, e.g. computer systems design, software development, internet service providers, technical consulting, wired telecommunication carriers, cable and other subscription programming, as well as high level administrative support.
