The Youth Council

Committees

The Youth Council is responsible for developing a comprehensive workforce investment strategy for youth programs and services. It identifies youth programs, develops request for proposals and makes recommendations to the WIB Executive Committee on the allocation of funds for youth services. The Council also oversees the performance of youth programs and services. Membership on the Youth Council include members of the WIB who have a special interest or expertise in youth policy, representatives of youth services agencies including juvenile justice and local law enforcement agencies, representatives of local public housing authorities, parents of eligible youth, former participants of youth programs, and representatives of organizations with experience in youth activities. Appointments to the Youth Council are made based on nominations from the community of individuals with expertise and interest in youth issues.
