Department of Labor & Industry Deputy Secretary Cippriani announced $100,000 has been awarded to the Delaware County Workforce Development Board (DCWDB.) The DCWDB, in partnership with EDSI - Delaware County, will use the funds to expand the Two-Generation Career Exploration and Education Program to serve adults and high school students residing in Delaware County who are interested in exploring manufacturing or health care careers.
The Chester Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Electrical Industry agreed to open applications for apprenticeship. The applications will be taken at the Office of Local Union No. 654, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), 3729 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn Pa. 19061
ON THE JOB TRAINING
Delaware County's OJT program opens new opportunities for job seekers and provides incentives to local employers to train and retain employees for skilled positions. Jobs available depend on current employer needs and are therefore subject to change at any given time, but there are generally opportunities in energy, healthcare and advanced manufacturing industries.
