Training
Employers can take advantage of work-based training programs such as On-the-Job Training for new employees. Employers are reimbursed up to 50% of the new employee’s wages to off-set the cost of hiring and training an individual that does not have all the skills necessary to be immediately proficient in the job. Employees earn while they learn allowing them to meet their financial obligations.
For more information on OJT, contact Reenie Ednie, On-the-Job Training Coordinator at [email protected].
Employee Retention
Employers can also benefit from work-based training to upskill current employees through Incumbent Worker Training (IWT). If an organization plans to promote some of its employees, there is no better way to prepare them for their new roles than through work-based training. Employers may be reimbursed up to $5,000 per employee. These programs help current employees learn how to function effectively in their new roles through newly acquired skills. This will positively impact their productivity and increase the organization’s efficiency, competitiveness, and profitability.
For more information on IWT, contact Donna Tutak, Special Projects Manager at [email protected].
